Surface Dressing to take Place along A2 in Garff Sheading

Surface drdownloadessing with chippings is likely to begin on the A2 through the Sheading this week. Baldrine, New Road in Laxey, and Slieau Lewaigue in Maughold are the primary areas that will receive attention. Please drive carefully past any workers on the Highway.

The emerging Garff Authority now has a full complement of nine Commissioners. Congratulations to Tim and Stewart, and commiserations to Melanie. Meeting of the full Board tonight at 7.00 pm at Commissioners’ offices – much to discuss, much to do!

Garff Election Result – Lonan Ward

Garff has two new commissioners this morning (15 June).

Lecturer Tim Kenyon topped the contest at a by-election in Lonan Parish yesterday, polling 200 votes.

He was followed by company director Stewart Clague who received 177 votes.

Teacher Melanie Christian, gained 138.

Tim and Stewart will now serve until April 2020.

The turnout was 28.5%.

Lonan
The Commissioners are seeking a new recycling site following the closure of the facility at the former Liverpool Arms Car Park.
Further recycling can be accessed at the Middle River Civic Amenity Site in Douglas and at the Balladoole Civic Amenity Site just North of Ramsey.
